Your scan is carried out at trusted imaging centres using modern diagnostic equipment, with reports provided by appropriately qualified clinical specialists.
You do not need to decide this alone. One of our experienced doctors will review your symptoms, medical history and clinical concerns, then recommend the most appropriate scan based on your individual needs.
No. You do not need to obtain a referral from your own GP before booking with PrivateScans, and there is no self-referral process for you to complete.
After you book and pay for your scan consultation, a doctor from our medical team will contact you to take the relevant clinical details, including your symptoms, medical history and concerns. They will then advise on the most appropriate scan and prepare a referral for your chosen scanning centre where clinically appropriate.
Appointments are usually available within 2–3 days of booking. Same-day and next-day appointments may also be available at selected scan centres, depending on scan type, location and clinical availability.
After your scan, the scanning centre will send the imaging report to our clinical team for review. We will then contact you to discuss the findings and explain any recommended next steps.
Your written report will be emailed to you in PDF format. Results are typically shared within 3–5 working days of your scan, although this can vary and may be quicker in many cases. Digital copies of your scan images can also be provided where required for onward care.
