Multiple key areas
Screen several essential organs, soft tissues and blood vessels in one appointment.
Doctor-led full body MRI screening designed to give you a broader picture of your health, with clinical support before and after your scan.
Full body MRI is designed for patients who want a wider assessment of their health, with clinical support before and after imaging. In around 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the package selected, it can help assess multiple important organs, soft tissues, blood vessels and body regions in one appointment.
Screen several essential organs, soft tissues and blood vessels in one appointment.
Pre and post-scan clinician consultations are included to guide your journey.
MRI uses magnetic resonance imaging rather than X-rays or CT radiation.
Start with PrivateScans and our clinicians can support the referral process if imaging is suitable.
A full body MRI can be helpful for patients who want reassurance, preventative health monitoring or a more complete overview than a single-area scan.
Many patients choose full body MRI to benchmark their overall health, particularly where there is a family history of cancer or serious illness, unexplained symptoms, or a desire to monitor health proactively.
Compared with a typical single-part MRI, full body MRI covers a broader area and produces more images. It may identify findings that need monitoring, further tests or clinical follow-up, while avoiding ionising radiation.
Every package includes the same core clinical support. The main difference is the number of body regions scanned, and whether whole spine or cardiac screening is included.
Discuss your goals, medical history and suitability before imaging is arranged.
Your MRI images are reviewed and formally reported by a consultant radiologist.
A GP can explain your results and advise on appropriate next steps.
Access to your scan images is provided through a digital portal where available.

Common questions about full body MRI scans, package suitability and results.
A full body MRI may be suitable if you want a broader overview of your health, have a family history of cancer or serious illness, are over 35 and want preventative monitoring, work in a high-stress or high-performance role, or have symptoms that have not been explained by standard tests. Suitability is reviewed before imaging is arranged.
No. A standard full body MRI scan focuses on key internal areas where important health concerns can arise, including the brain, abdomen, pelvis and, depending on the package selected, the whole spine. The Platinum package also includes cardiac screening. Additional areas, such as prostate-focused imaging or limbs, may be available as optional add-ons where clinically appropriate.
Yes. Many patients choose full body MRI for reassurance, preventative health screening and proactive monitoring. It can help provide a clearer picture of your health and support informed decisions about lifestyle, follow-up care or further investigations if anything unexpected is identified.
A full body MRI provides detailed imaging of the areas included in your selected package. It can help identify structural changes or abnormalities that may require monitoring, further imaging or specialist review.
Brain MRI
Brain MRI can demonstrate a range of abnormalities where present, including tumours, evidence of previous stroke or infarction, bleeding, white matter changes and the presence of some aneurysms.
Abdomen and pelvis MRI
Abdomen and pelvis MRI assesses major organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas and spleen, as well as pelvic structures. It may identify abnormalities including masses, lesions, cysts or other structural changes.
Spine MRI
Spine MRI assesses the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. It is useful for reviewing the intervertebral discs, spinal canal and spinal cord, and may identify degenerative changes, disc herniation or prolapse, facet joint degeneration, spinal cord lesions or masses.
Cardiac MRI
Cardiac MRI, included in the Platinum package, assesses the structure and function of the heart. It can review wall motion, valve abnormalities, hypertrophy and evidence of previous myocardial infarction.
The most appropriate package depends on your goals, health background and the areas you would like assessed.
Silver package
Silver covers the brain, abdomen and pelvis. It is suitable for patients who want focused screening of key internal areas, with optional add-ons available where appropriate.
Gold package
Gold includes everything in Silver and adds whole spine imaging, covering the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. It is our most popular package for patients who want broader screening.
Platinum package
Platinum includes everything in Gold and adds cardiac screening. It is our most comprehensive package and is designed for patients who want the broadest level of MRI screening available through this service.
The areas covered depend on the package selected. Packages may include the brain, abdomen, pelvis, key blood vessels, soft tissues, whole spine, musculoskeletal structures in the scanned regions and cardiac screening in the Platinum package. Pelvic imaging may include prostate assessment for men or gynaecological assessment for women where appropriate.
No. MRI does not use ionising radiation. It uses strong magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of the body.
Scan time depends on the package selected. Silver is approximately 60 minutes, Gold is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes and Platinum is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.
A consultant radiologist reviews your images and prepares a formal report. A GP follow-up consultation can then help explain the findings and discuss any appropriate next steps.
